Tom Gump - Edina Morningside Rotary Club
As President of Edina Rotary Club, Tom presided over a club that grew from 68 members to 94 members last year. He shared his 16 point plan to grow membership as follows:

1. Know strengths of your club.
2. What (industry/occupation) classifications are not filled?
3. Keep a list of potential recruits and revisit regularly.
4. Make recruiting members a top priority.
5. Let members know recruiting members is your top priority.
6. Make a list of good things about your club.
7. Make a list of club member responsibilities.
8. Let other clubs in your district know you want new members.
9. Be persistent with people and your cause.
10. Have constancy of purpose.
11. Celebrate new member adds.
12. Ask your RYE host parents to join.
13. Ask potential new members to have spouse join also.
14. Ask retired individuals to join.
15. Ask former members to rejoin.
16. Realize there is no finish line when it comes to recruiting.

Tom also stressed that it is important to engage new members early and often to make them feel welcome and let them experience the full effect of giving back.
