Jeff Hafner is an arborist with Rainbow Tree Care. He will speak on the challenges of the Emerald Ash Borer. Agrilus planipennis, commonly known as the emerald ash borer (EAB), is a green jewel beetle native to eastern Asia that feeds on ash species. In its native range, it is typically found at low densities and is not considered a significant pest. Outside its native range, it is an invasive species and is highly destructive to ash trees native to North America.

We still need DVDs and CDs for Edendale's media room. It's a win-win: you'll regain your shelf and the seniors will gain hours of entertainment! Take a quick peek through your movies and music and donate what you no longer use. Thanks!
The Eden Prairie A.M. Rotary met at Feed My Starving Children for our annual meeting in service to this wonderful charity. After grabbing a cup of coffee and donning hairnets, Rotarians were briefed on some of the good works of FMSC and given some instructions for the morning food packing session.
All of the food is paid for through donations, and volunteers do all of the packing. EP A.M. Rotarians will be packing food to be shipped to Cambodia. There are 7 FMSC locations across the United States—3 in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota, 3 in the Chicago area and 1 in Mesa, Arizona. FMSC prepares three types of food packages. Manna is the rice-based pack that Rotarians will be preparing today. The other two are potato-based packs, one for children who are weaning, and the other for people who are sick with diarrhea. These are all special formulas prepared by nutritionists. FMSC works with mission partners to distribute the food. FMSC buys and packs the food, but these partners handle the transport and distribution, with an incredibly high success rate of reaching the hungry people the shipment is destined to serve.
President Jan presented FMSC with a check for $2000 from the Eden Prairie A.M. Rotary to help purchase the food that we helped pack today.
