2015-16 RYE Student Art Mananboon from Thailand

Peerapong Matanboon nicknamed "Art"  arrived from Chang Mai, Thailand, in late August, 2015 where he was greeted by many people.
He stayed with Dan and Mary O'Brien until March 1, 2016 before switching to his new hosts, Craig and Susan Blixrud and their family. 
 
 
 
Pictured on the left is Art when he came to one of his first Rotary meetings.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
He was taken up in a small engine plane by Asst. Supt. Josh Swanson to explore his dream of becoming a pilot. 
 
 
 
 
 
Art also visited the Arboretum, the Como Park Conservatory,  the Science Museum. and the Ice Castle.
 
 
 
 
 
 
During his backpacking class in the fall, he was able to visit Duluth and Jay Cooke State Park. In the spring, he took a canoeing and camping class and went to the BOundary Waters.
Like many students, Art enjoyed going to the Homecoming Dance  in the fall and Prom in the spring..   
 
Before we knew it, it was time to give Art a farewell gift from the club before he returned to Thailand in late June, 2016.
