Stephanie Glaros, Facilitator
StoryCorps' One Small Step
Stephanie Glaros is a bridge builder, author, and empathy evangelist. Her niche is convening authentic conversations across differences, currently for StoryCorps’ One Small Step program. She is the founder of Humans of Minneapolis, a visual storytelling initiative that encourages empathy through first-person narrative and photography. She was an art director for almost a decade, most notably for Utne Reader magazine. She taught graphic design at Minneapolis College and the University of Minnesota Hubbard School of Journalism. Her work has been featured in the Star-Tribune, Minnesota Monthly, and on MPR. Her conversations for StoryCorps are archived in the Library of Congress and her Humans of Minneapolis project is housed in Hennepin County Library’s permanent collection. She rejects binary thinking that reduces complex human beings into "us" and "them."
