Eden Prairie City Manager Rick Getschow, a club member, presented his annual “State of the City” talk, providing updates on five city government goals: community well-being and safety; economic vitality; high quality, efficient services; innovation and sustainable practices; preserved and beautified environment; and sense of community. Sign up friends or family to join us when we help pack food Feb. 24 at Feed My Starving Children’s location in Chanhassen. The meeting starts at 7:15 a.m. and the gathering will extend later than normal in order to pack food for needy persons.
Sign up for the Winter Progressive Dinner that will be held from 6-9 p.m.on Sat., Feb. 28 at Biaggi’s. This is a chance for members and their spouses to get acquainted in a different setting. Sign up by Feb. 19 on ClubRunner
Note that there will NOT be a Golf Outing this August because of continued low attendance at past events – unless, of course, someone is willing to take this on and rally the troops.

EPHS SPORTS CAPTAINS REPORT
EPHS girls gymnastics captains Etta Perry, Heather Sarahan, and Piper Lincoln were our guests, and provided an update on the team’s success this season. Etta is a senior captain who will attend the U of M next year, probably with a medical-related career in mind. Heather, a senior who has a torn ACL and won’t finish the season, is likely headed to the University of Iowa to study teaching. Piper, a junior, noted that the team has overcome numerous injuries and still has a shot at making the state tournament

HAPPY FINES:

Club members contributed “Happy Fines” for personal news and achievements, including: Jan Eian, recognizing the achievements of Jeanne Zetah, Mo Mara and Adam Sienkowski in improving the club’s website; Carol Bomben, heading out of town to observe her grandson’s first birthday; Dan O’Brien, happy but broke upon returning from Hawaii; Roger Jorgensen, for Packer staff changes; Joe Stoebner, for his return to “home” and seven grandchildren; Irene Kelly, for the pleasure of hosting a grandson this past weekend; Jane McGinty, for the club’s ongoing and future support of exchange student Ana; intern Ana Peterson, for her dance team’s pending appearance at state; John Crudele, for a recent, rewarding retreat focusing on paying blessings forward; and Jeanne Zetah, for the club’s recent grant to the EP Reads’ project to bring “Wild” author Cheryl Strayed to EP.
