For our February 8th meeting, we will be packing food at FMSC, 18732 Lake Dr. E., Chanhassen, MN 55317.
After a year off due to COVID, we’re back for our AM Rotary FMSC Packing event. Join your fellow Rotarians for this special “service above self” event that aligns with our mission in support of worldwide causes that make a positive difference. Please note, FMSC is very COVID aware, will require masks, and provides for social distancing as requested.
We hope Rotarians will also invite family members to join in support of our efforts.
The event will start at 7:00 AM (in lieu of Tuesday AM meeting at Bear Path) with coffee and breakfast provided by Panera Bread. The kick-off and instruction meeting will begin at 7:15, and the packing session will run from 7:30–8:30. Packing results wrap up at 8:40, and after that, you are on your way to starting your day great by serving those in need.
Donna Svendsen joined us Tuesday, February 1st to speak on ServeMinnesota. ServeMinnesota is a catalyst for positive social impact, working with AmeriCorps and community partners to address critical needs in Minnesota and share our proven practices nationally. They use data-driven solutions to tackle problems in educational achievement, economic opportunity, housing stability, recovery from substance use disorders, climate mitigation, and more.
Their goal is to find and support the approaches that are shown by research to be most effective and reliable. Our research and development team works with our partner programs to improve over time and to ensure positive outcomes for the people and communities served.
Donna Svendsen forges relationships and builds partnerships between ServeMinnesota and stakeholders in the community. Donna’s expertise with Minnesota’s non-profit landscape spans 20+ years. Before her current role, Donna served as associate director with the General Mills Foundation.
Fueled by the people power of AmeriCorps, ServeMinnesota plays an important role in partnering with the community to address critical issues from closing education gaps, addressing affordable housing and environmental issues, shoring up the community in the wake of COVID-19, and most recently supporting Afghan refugees in Minnesota. Learn how we’re making a difference.
