Ross Bernstein .... The Champion’s Code
Author Ross Bernstein, pictured here with Elizabeth Crane, is a sports nut who has been with the media for 20 years. He has interviewed over 1000  sportspersons and written nearly 50 books. He talked about winning and winning the right way. He said there are eight characteristics that stand out in the DNA of successful sportspersons. He listed them out as: passion, unselfish, come through in a clutch, will to win, set goals and visualize, consistent, respect, and humble. He took examples of players and coaches to illustrate how their DNA differentiators make them champions and helped their teams. He spoke of Kirby Puckett’s passion, Wayne Gretzky’s unselfish nature, Michael Jordan’s will to win, and Brandi Chastain ability to come through in a clutch. Red Wings made the play-offs 25 years in a row thanks to Scotty Bowman, Chris Charles had a 28-year career, Harmon Killebrew was a quintessential clubhouse guy who earned everyone’s respect, and Barry Sanders was humble.
So what should drive a person and make up the code for someone to be successful? The first thing to do is make it personal and do something that drives, something which you have a passion for. Have a goal but one with a plan. A goal without a plan is just a wish. Have fun and do what you enjoy doing, if not at work at least away from it.
He also left us with an important pointer: individuals win games, teams win championships!

Spotlight on Dane Boeckermann
 Dane Boeckermann was born in Moorhead and moved to Eden Prairie where he went to High School and graduated in 1999. He played football for the high school and was a fourth quarter starter. He went to Trinity College in San Antonio, TX where he got his degree in Accounting. He got his Masters in Accounting from George Washington University.
Dane has been back in Eden Prairie since 2007 and lives here with his wife and two kids. He joined his father’s firm and became a shareholder this October. He and his wife started their home healthcare business in 2008 and are still running it.
