 Our speakers for the June 6, 2023 EPAM Rotary meeting were Judy and Bob Jasperson from the Wings of the North Museum. Bob and Judy were born and raised in Minnesota. Bob has been flying since he was 15 years old. The Wings of the North organization began in 1997, It is non-profit. Wings of the North has four basic functions: The Air Expo is July 22-23 this year–at Flying Cloud Airport. Bob showed pictures of planes that have been at the airshow in the past. Volunteers are needed for the Air Expo. The sweepstakes grand prize this year is an airplane or $3500–your choice. Tickets are $50 each. 
The Wings of the North Museum has lost its location at Flying Cloud Airport. Other locations are being explored. Currently, the museum items are in storage. Wings of the North Museum has artifacts related to Minnesota aviation. Bob told the story of 11 year old Ricky Snyder who floated away from the Met Stadium in a hot air balloon in 1969 when they forgot to tether the balloon. He was able to safely navigate it back to the ground and landed in a partially frozen river. This balloon is part of the Wing of the North Museum.
