On Tuesday, May 19th the Eden Prairie A.M. Rotary Club will meet at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Eden Prairie for our 27th annual Golden Eagle award ceremony. The Golden Eagle honors students who excel in both athletics and academics. Twenty Eden Prairie High School Seniors, 10 young women and 10 young men, will be recognized for their achievements. One girl and one boy will be chosen from the group as the 2015 Golden Eagle winners, and each will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

Motivation, Leadership and Teamwork: Lessons and Reflections from a Life Observing World Leaders
Speaker: Sal Mondelli
Tony Compton introduced his “favorite” boss Sal Mondelli. Sal Mondelli was named President and CEO of 360 Communities in May 2012. 360 Communities provides hope and support to 17,000 individuals each year with services in over 40 locations, including a network of food shelves,resource centers, sexual and domestic violence shelters, and programs that support school success from birth through high school. 1,200 volunteers donate time, energy and talent in their every year. 360 Communities delivers a full circle of support to families through its strong network of programs, resources, and community partners. No matter how a person enters 360 Communities, staff and volunteers engage them to identify the root causes of their problems and provide resources to help them onto a path toward self-sustained success.
Special Recognition for Jeanne Zetah
District Governor Jim Nelson and Governor Elect Tim Murphy had a special announcement and recognition for Jeanne Zetah! Jeanne Zetah was honored for her service above and beyond for the district. Jim commented, "Some things don't get much visibility and one of them is training members on Club Runner. We just asked Jeanne and got out of the way." Club Runner at the District level had 3300 members in the directories. We actually had 2900 but because of bad record keeping we were paying for 3300. Jeanne got clubs to sync up their records and this reduced cost for the District. Jeanne was recognized for a tremendous job in getting the clubs to use club runner and syncing their records. Tim also mentioned Irene Kelly as the District trainer and her commitment to our District as well. Tim closed with saying, "Jeanne's our hero today". Jim presented Jeanne a hand made "something or other" with Rotary logo. Our website club runner hero, Jeanne Zetah!
Spotlight on Bill Yeager
Third time giving vocational; still the same guy. “Could say, Ditto and sit down”! Ninth year of retirement as Presbyterian minister! Served for forty-nine years. Was 17 before ever being in a church building. Grew up in a non-church family . Grew up in W. Maryland. Death of his father was first time he set foot in a church. Faith filled a void in his life. Someone surprised him and said if you want to be a minister you have to go to college. Bill knew farm chores but was concerned about school. Several years later a theological degree from Harvard Theological School and a Dr. of Divinity degree from Princeton. Bill Served churches in Winona, New Jersey; Fargo, North Dakota; Lincoln, Nebraska; Webster Groves, Missouri; and Gross Point, Michigan. As a Pastor, hunger, housing and jobs were always part of his concern. Use to tell the Gross Point congregation to sign up for habitat for humanity to give back to the community. Always knew he would retire in some exotic place just didn’t know it would be Minnesota. His kids and ten grandchildren live here in Minnesota. Bill helps out locally with the Presbyterian congregation. Downhill skiing, sailing and biking are his past times. Ideals of Rotary are consistent with the church. Eden Prairie is the fifth Rotary Club Bill has been part of.
