Maria Nambhu is the author of Africa’s Child, a poignant new memoir exploring the power of the human spirit. Overcoming odds, Maria Nambhu, then "Mary," grew up in an African orphanage for mixed-race children. She determined the best way to love and take care of herself was to get a formal education. Dance, she discovered, brought her joy as she wrestled with her identity and sought hope for her future. Maria’s remarkable journey was moving and inspiring. Writing her book was a painful and cathartic experience motivating her to record and share her journey through life.
