Bob DeLange - Waconia Brewing Company
 Bob DeLange tapped the club’s interest in craft beer April 14, presenting a program on his new business, Waconia Brewing Company. Bob is a former Cargill employee who is one of four owners of the Waconia business, and serves as its general manager. The business venture sprung from his conversations with family members, including a brother who owns a brewery in Colorado. Bob was looking for a new career that would require less travel and allow more time with his kids, and the new craft-beer enterprise has indeed provided that. WBC has a taproom in downtown Waconia and is also selling in a few restaurants west of I-494, including Prairie Tap House and Champps in Eden Prairie. It is producing at a rate of about 600 barrels of beer per year, but is licensed for more and plans to grow. Spotlight on Chloe Martin - Mentor Program Participant
EPHS senior Chloe Martin talked about a mentoring program that Irene Kelly helps co-facilitate. The future University of San Diego student has been mentored by her physical therapist and is interested in majoring in some medical discipline at college. Her interest in this field is quite personal, as she has torn ACL and MCL ligaments and has had to go through the physical therapy process herself. Her mentorship continues through the school year.
HAPPY FINES
We’re happy. And we’re willing to pay fines for being so. Prafulla Vegunta is happy to be back from India, despite his neighbors’ mixed feelings about his return. Roy Terwilliger has just moved to Eden Prairie, which is a switch because he lived in Edina all those years he was an EP banker and represented EP in the Legislature. Greg Albrecht is happy to be back from Arizona, but is missing 80-degree temps.
VISITORS
Randy Burmeister, who is living in Florida, was back to visit his former Rotary Club.
