Speaker: Bob DeLange, Waconia Brewing

Waconia Brewing Company was founded by two families with an entrepreneurial spirit and a love of craft beers. The venture started as many breweries have, with the gift of a home brewing kit which fueled a dream to take their passions to the next level. WBC is the realization of that dream, created for all to enjoy. The taproom, on Main Street in Waconia, features four namesake beers in constant supply as well as ever-changing seasonal selections and limited edition specialty brews available by the glass or in growlers to go.

Craig Lamothe, Southwest Light Rail Update
Craig is the Project Director for Southwest Light Rail Transit (SWLRT) and has been with the Metropolitan Council for eleven years.  Craig is also an Eden Prairie City Planning Commission member.
Craig indicated that the Southwest Line will extend the Green Line and the route will be 16 miles from Target Field to Southwest Station in Eden Prairie.  When complete, riders will be able to ride from Eden Prairie to the U of M and connect to St Paul, MSP airport and the Mall of America.
SWLRT will run past high employment areas.  The project received municipal consent in 2014.  The Environmental Studies will be completed 2014-2016.  Construction is slated for 2016 through 2018 and serve passengers late in 2019.
The $1.65B price tag will be funded 50% by federal, 30% by County sources, and 10% each from Regional Rail Road Authority and the State of Minnesota.  United Health Group donated 6.5 acres for a terminal near its campus.
