PAUL LARSEN FROM GIANT WORLDWIDE: BECOMING A LEADER WORTH FOLLOWING
Advice on how business leaders can make their employees more productive and happy was provided by our July 17 speaker, consultant Paul Larsen of Giant Worldwide.

To become a leader worth following, executives need to know about two important challenges: the digital age and changing demographics. The former includes such issues as work/life balance, making your employees collaborative, and producing communications that are visual and interactive. The demographic changes suggest that a much smaller number of Gen-X’ers are coming behind the Baby Boomers, meaning companies will need to dip into the next generation, Millennials, for leadership. Knowing how millennials view work, their expectations of frequent job change, and their digital mindset will help companies cope with this trend.

Another key for executives is to become more aware of their leadership style and tendencies. This is a loop where self-awareness never ends.

Other concepts covered by Paul include intentional vs. accidental actions; the metrics of a high-performance team, and push vs. pull.
