Alan Anderson: The Science of Climate Change
Alan also talked about the U.S.’s 4th National Climate Assessment and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s effort to combat climate change. The U.S.’s 4th National Climate Assessment concluded that climate change is caused by CO2 emissions from burning fossil fuels and we must act now to protect it. The Chamber of Commerce concluded that climate change is occurring and humans are contributing to these changes.
With the distraction of the pandemic the global focus on climate change has drifted away. Alan encourages Rotarians to start a Rotary Climate Action Team (see www.rcatnow.com for ideas and tools) and to join Rotary’s new Environmental Sustainability Action Group. (www.esrag.org)
