NOT ME! Assault Prevention

Experience an overview of "NOT ME! Assault Prevention Training" for adults and learn about being safer in your everyday life!

This training is poised to be the perfect partner for Rotary in combating human trafficking.  NOT ME! allows Rotarians to focus time and resources on the prevention of sexual assaults of children, which is the precursor for 80%-90% of trafficked victims; and leads to many negative consequences for the victim and for society.

LISA WOOD AND OTHERS: STRIVE CELEBRATION BREAKFAST
Another successful year of the STRIVE mentoring program at Eden Prairie High School was celebrated May 8 at the Eden Prairie Community Center, where mentors and their students were introduced and congratulated.

Lisa Wood coordinates the program, which has grown to include mentoring of seventh- and eighth-graders as well. Involved as mentors are members of A.M. Rotary and Noon Rotary, as well as school staff, businessmen and businesswomen, and other people in the community. They mentor EPHS juniors and seniors throughout the school year, being that extra guidance as the students attempt to improve their grades and get ready for post-secondary education and other opportunities.

Part of what makes Eden Prairie great “is that we wrap our arms around each other” and the STRIVE is a good example of that, said Superintendent of Schools Josh Swanson.

Joseph Sanchez, a senior who has participated in STRIVE, said the program has had big benefits for him and other students. “The STRIVE program has been such a pillar in my life,” he said. “I’ve seen so much growth in these students, just as I’ve seen growth in myself.

“STRIVE has been a light, in a world that needs light.”
