We are excited to hear from Alan Anderson, Northfield Rotarian, presenting on climate change. He has extensive knowledge on the effects of climate change based on scientific information. We are excited to have Alan address us as his insights coincide with the Rotary focus on the environment.

The Rotary’s club assemblies are a time to discuss and examine how the Rotary is doing in different areas, including member recruitment and participation, grants, and community service. In the club assembly, the Rotary heard from the board and committee members on July 21st that we are moving forward in these areas.
Tim Connors informed the Rotary about the new website and new social media plans that would help increase club visibility, membership, and also provide an easier way to get to know more about the club. Holly Link spoke to the Rotary about the involvement of the members and increasing member involvement.
Adam Sienkowski talked about the various committees in the Rotary and increasing member involvement. He also spoke about the effort and work that the interns Mrinalni Iyer, Kevin Gao, Kayla Keddie, and Nicki Kunz put in throughout the year with Tim Connors through the social media and new website. Adam Sienkowski also welcomed the new interns Julia Wang, Mallory Miller, Jacob Plourde, and Anoushkha Koutharapu to the club.
Roger Jorgensen spoke to the club about the Rotary Foundation and the areas that the club can grow in in that aspect. He also informed the club that the goal that they have set for the year in terms of donations is $27,000.
Jane McGinty talked about the events that the Rotary did in the past year, including the women’s event, which has increased the Rotary’s membership. She also spoke about finding new and various ways to connect and know people, and she would also like to show different aspects of the Rotary to prospective members.
Mark Weber is leading the area of community service, including the activities that have been continuing despite COVID-19, which include Meal on Wheels, and also the activities that have been stopped because of COVID-19, including Feed My Starving Children and packing school supplies. He also discussed the three ways to be involved in the committee, which include filling out the member engagement form and talking to Mark himself, and providing ideas on increasing member engagement.
Jenifer Loon is part of the International Committee for the club. She discussed the actions that they are taking for other countries, including a project in Honduras to provide sanitary water systems to schools and teaching families about good hygiene and finding ways to provide clean water to hospitals.
