Much of the new emphasis is on membership because the international organization is at about 1.2 million members – an impressive amount, but about the same number as 10 years ago. Michaletz has goals that align with the four mentioned above, especially membership retention. That requires clubs to deliver on the expectations of its members, including fun and fellowship, service, and networking. There may be more room for improvement in “networking” than the other two, he noted. Club members can help Michaletz by responding to the online survey he emailed to everyone July 10. The new governor of Rotary District 5950, Russ Michaletz, outlined Rotary goals for the coming year, goals that are based on Rotary’s new strategic planning as well as direction set by the new president of Rotary International, Mark Maloney.
