Notes from June 23, 2020
Club Assembly and Introduction to Carol Kampman
Carol Kampman joined EPAM Rotary February 4th of 2020 as our administrative assistant. Carol grew up on a farm in Iowa and attended the University of IA obtaining degrees in social work and psychology. In February, after her senior year, Carol joined World Campus Afloat and spent a semester travelling the world while working with groups supporting mission work of various groups. In her early 20’s Carol worked in social work in Iowa and got the bug in her late 20’s to return to mission work in India so she cashed out her retirement funds and headed off to India working in a hospital and teaching English grammar at a Jesuit boys school in Nepal. Carol moved to Minneapolis in 1983 and worked in home care social work for a year and then joined Fairview where she worked up until retirement in November.

Carol is married and has four children including two stepchildren. Her 91-year-old mother moved up to the TC to live with her when Covid-19 reared up. Carol had been looking for something part-time doing something different and a position she would be proud to work with. She is looking forward to getting to know everyone better. Welcome Carol!

The remainder of the program consisted of members meeting in smaller zoom rooms of five or six members and sharing thoughts on Rotary and direction of the Club going forward.

st grandchild soon. Dick has been very involved with numerous civic, charitable and religious entities and enjoys outdoor activities including golf and walking.
Announcements
  • Stop the Trafficking 5k Virtual Run – over 800 virtual participants in support of stopping human trafficking
  • June 30th marks the end of the RI year. Please submit your contributions to Roger Jorgensen or log in to RI website https://my.rotary.org/en/donate to give electronically. To date members have contributed over $22,000 of our $31,000 goal.
  • Dues Increase – The board has approved a $10 increase in quarterly dues. Kelly Salwei explained that the Club activities are supported through three sources of revenue. Door prizes contribute about $2,000 annually, meals and dues. When we don’t meet, door prize and meal money go away. Couple this loss of revenue with increases in costs of technology and administrative services we find it necessary and prudent to increase dues to defray these expenses. Please contact Kelly (ksalwei@otcpas.com) with any questions.
